If you’re not in Barbados, you’re missing the Mount Gay Regatta 2009, which began today. I’ve been watching the sailboats sailing pass by all morning. Here’s a photo of it I took for you:
This morning I received an e-mail from a guest who’s coming from “Winterpeg,” as she calls it … where it snowed last night! I can’t wait for her to get an eyeful of this.
You want to see another photo? Oh, okay, if you insist 🙂 Here’s one that includes a bit of our jetty at St Lawrence Beach Condominiums. I swear, as long as I live I’ll never get over the stunning range of blues I see in the beautiful Caribbean Sea in our back yard.
As you know, I’ve been doing a lot of grousing lately about the effects of the down economy. Today I spent an hour or so on our jetty, enjoying the warmth of the sun on my skin and having a great time taking photos. And you know what I say to the whiner I’ve been? “Shut up, girl, look outside of yourself … or, at the very least, just look outside …”
(Do you see the sailboats way off in the distance? They’re there, many of them in a dead heat. Exciting!)
Another wonderful post…. what can I say? I often wish we Bajans appreciated our home as much as you do.
Isn’t it true? I fail to sit in awe of the Rocky Mountains because I grew up with those in my back yard. You’re right, it’s too bad. I feel lucky I get to live in a place of such beauty, beauty I can actually recognize and value. I hope my awe never ceases. xx Thx for writing.
