These names you list make my point exactly, which is what’s to distinguish one name from another? Would I ever remember “Coral Sands Mist” as distinct and separate from “Coral Sands Beach”?
I’m not suggesting that holiday rental properties be called, “Tall Green Building With View of Mullins Bay,” only that the marketing challenge of all these properties is to make each one notable so that it’s not “another” pretty-sounding Barbados property.
In marketing St Lawrence Beach Condominiums, for instance, I promote “luxury seaside condo rentals at a reasonable price.” This tag line says more and is therefore more important than “St Lawrence Beach Condominiums.” Same with a place called “Almond Beach” or “Coconut Grove.” What distinguishes these places? Nice sounding names, but they actually say … nothing about the places themselves.
